Building a litecoin miner

Building a litecoin miner isn't a hard thing to do.

You only need a bunch of good gpu's, an extremely power PSU (preferable 1000 watt plus), an everyday motherboard, couple of dimm's an average hard disk, a power switch button and of course a crate :P

That's what I told my good old friend who asked me how we can do it.

Of course he laugh when i mention the "crate" part, but eventually he realize that I was dead serious :)

It took us about 3 hours to achieve it and another 3 to configure CGMiner and the result was something about 2200Mh/s

It worth it?

Well that depends the way you see it.

My point of view is that litecoin miners was a good source of standard income for a time being but that not the issue anymore.

The pool difficulties are sky high these days and the rewards are almost nothing compare to a year back which was quite descent  (about a lite coin per 1 1/2 months).

Top line is, that if you have the money, the time and the curiosity of course try it.

But if you looking for the quick big catch don't even think about it.
